2nd day of Junior Summer Camp Day one of English Language Pot Pourri workshop with master storyteller and English educator Shiraz Saini was filled with different activities.. We started with a fun game of changing our real names into names of favourite food items...then recited a poem by Kenn Nesbitt followed by a dramatisation activity about an ice-cream talking to you. Word building game for the 7-9 year kids and a flash card game for the 5 -6 year kids was initiated. After a small break the children were told a Marathi folktale "Ekki Dokki" while we discussed difficult words. The session concluded with a detailed understanding of Compound words with meanings and examples and another funny poem "The Terrible Tickle."
