The world of books is fascinating and powerful..words, pictures, colours, characters, places all come together in a book. Celebrating Reading month at the T S Central library, master storyteller Shiraz Saini regaled the kids with three stories on Sunday 23rd June: Nabiya by Chatura Rao ...about a spirited young girl and her journey into the world of words. The Girl who hated books by Manjusha Pawagi...about a girl who did not like reading but finally thanks to a minor accident, all the characters of the books around her come alive and Meena becomes an engrossed reader! Never Shake a Rattlesnake by Michaela Morgan...a hilarious picture book about how NOT to behave. We also recited a lovely poem called "Library" by Julia Donaldson which was apt for the occasion. The art expression activity was about drawing a book, creating a name for it and writing a story in it ! A lovely end to a funfilled morning.
